Registration, simplyfied
Each and every importer or manufacturer of LED and luminaires in Germany has to be registrated within the EAR. Exceptions are for traditional bulbs as well as halogen lamps.
Without registration trading in Germany is forbidden. This registration has to be accounted within EAR before the start of trade, and for each single product of the manufacturer in question.
If producers aren’t registered or if single brands of a manufacturer are missing in the registration, reprimands of competitors have to be considered. Almost no other trading branch has experienced reprimands as frequently as the manufacturer and producers of lighting products.
Quite often, those reprimands are driven by Lightcycle GmbH, Munich. Lightcycle is established (in 2006 by Philips, Osram and others) as a privately organized take back system for lamps and luminaires.
The most common reason for reprimands, reports of attorneys say, are not-executed company- and brand registrations. Recently missing brand names on light products were detected and reprimanded as well, as lawyers report.
So, what do you need to register in EAR?
For the registration you need simply a bank warranty, a trustee and your products in images.
You don’t need a recycling company nor a take-back-system, that charges per single sold LED or lamp or marketed ton of your products. Ask us, and we will show you your individual and appropriate, law fitting solution. And with pleasure we handle your registration as well. Just call +49-40-73717779.
